The Sheldon presents Carolbeth True and Christi John Bye: "Jazz and Pop Standards," Saturday, January 22, 2011 at 11 a.m. in the perfect acoustics of the Sheldon Concert Hall. Acclaimed pianist Carolbeth True and up-and-coming vocalist Christi John Bye celebrate great jazz, pop and American Songbook favorites! Carolbeth True has performed at jazz clubs and festivals throughout the St. Louis area and Christi John Bye is a rising star on the St. Louis music scene.

Carolbeth True is one of the most in-demand classical and jazz piano teachers in St. Louis and is a long-term member of the Webster University Music Faculty. True was the rehearsal pianist/assistant music director with the St. Louis Muny Opera for twenty years. She is the first call pianist for many visiting jazz musicians, has her own trio, works with trumpeter Randy Holmes's quintet, the Sessions Big Band, the Trinity Jazz Ensemble, and is a part of the cast of the education program, "The Jazz Story," an overview of jazz history at the Sheldon Concert Hall.

Tickets for Carolbeth True and Christi John Bye are $10 adult reserved/$5 child reserved.
