During its fifteen years together, the Tierney Sutton Band has received two Grammy Nominations for Best Vocal Jazz Album, a JazzWeek Award for Vocalist of the Year, consecutive nominations for Jazz Journalist Association Awards, recorded numerous CDs that made the #1 spot on jazz radio playlists, and received critical praise throughout the world. Comprised of vocalist Tierney Sutton and instrumental virtuosos Christian Jacob, Trey Henry, Kevin Axt and Ray Brinker, the band has headlined in recent years at Carnegie Hall, The Hollywood Bowl and Jazz at Lincoln Center and has also appeared at the Monterey , Marciac, Isthmus and Umbria jazz festivals.

Wisconsin-born jazz singer Tierney Sutton attended Boston University and Wesleyan, where she earned a degree in Russian language and literature. At Wesleyan, Sutton became involved in singing jazz and, after graduating, she attended Berklee College of Music for a few semesters, studying under Jerry Bergonzi. She moved to Los Angeles in 1994, where she quickly became a fixture on the area's jazz scene. Sutton, who teaches voice at USC, often leads her own group, sings with Buddy Childers and Dave MacKay, and has performed with the Les Brown Orchestra. She released her debut CD for the A Music label in 1998, and has since released albums such as Blue in Green, a tribute to pianist Bill Evans, followed by Something Cool, which covered several different genres including country and show tunes. She followed up with four records for Telarc, 2004's Dancing in the Dark, 2005's I'm with the Band, 2007's On the Other Side, and 2009's Desire. Both I'm with the Band and On the Other Side received Grammy nominations, raising Sutton's popularity to new heights.
