The Repertory Theatre of St. Louis has received a $25,000 grant from the PNC Foundation through its PNC Arts Alive program.
The grant will support A Gnome for Christmas, presented by The Rep's Imaginary Theatre Company. In addition to backing the production's regional tour of schools and community centers as well as public performances, the grant will provide for a milestone in Rep history. On 11 a.m. December 10, The Rep will live-stream a performance of A Gnome for Christmas from the Heagney Theatre at Nerinx Hall High School, making it the first-ever full-length Rep show that the public can watch online. The stream will be available for everyone, free of charge. Additional public performances of A Gnome for Christmas run December 17-23 at Heagney Theatre. A Gnome for Christmas, with book by Sarah Brandt and music and lyrics by Stephen James Neale, was written specifically for the Imaginary Theatre Company. Adapted from a Scandinavian folk tale, it is a warm-hearted holiday musical intended for all ages. Thanks to PNC's grant, it will reach diverse audiences in schools throughout the St. Louis region and beyond.Videos
