The NonProphet Theater Company Announces Their 2011 Season

The NonProphet Theater Company proudly announces their fifth "legitimate" theater season running June through October 2011.

Danny and the Deep Blue Sea by John Patrick Shanley (June 23- July 3, 2011, Thurs - Saturdays at 8pm, Sundays at 5pm)

Danny, a violent, troubled and self-loathing man meets Roberta, a divorced mother - mistrustful of men, and haunted by the memory of an ugly sexual incident in her youth, and the two begin a halting conversation in a seedy bar. Yet, as their initial reserve begins to melt, the possibility of a genuine and meaningful relationship begins to emerge - the first for both of them. But can it last?

Debbie Does Dallas - The Musical by Erica Schmidt, Andrew Sherman & Susan L. Schwartz (August 4 - August 20, 2011, Thursdays - Saturdays at 8pm, plus Sunday, August 14th at 5pm)

The most important theatrical event of the 21st century, Debbie Does Dallas is a modern day morality tale (well, as modern as the classic 1970's adult film on which it is based). It's a comic musical of tragic proportions, told in the language of the rodeo-porn-football circus. Debbie Benton, All-American small-town sweetheart and captain of the cheerleaders, receives a letter to report to the most important event in her life: auditions for the Dallas Cowboy cheerleading squad! But, being as poor as she is pretty, she and her high school teammates form Teen Services, a company dedicated to getting menial jobs to raise money to help Debbie reach her lofty goal. When they realize that minimum-wage isn't going to cut it, they hatch a plan to try their hands at "little favors", performed with enthusiasm by "good girls". Accompanied by a hard-rockin' score featuring such toetappers as "Small-Town Girl", "I Wanna Do Debbie", "The Dildo Rag", and "Dallas... I'm Coming", the girls strive to help Debbie get "ten dollars closer to Dallas " through sex, sweat and tears. But, will Debbie lose her soul along the way?

Reasons to Be Pretty by Neil LaBute (September 29 - October 9, 2011, Thursdays - Saturdays at 8pm, Sundays at 5pm)

Greg's tight social circle is thrown into turmoil when his offhand remarks about a female co-worker's pretty face and his own girlfriend's lack thereof get back to Steph. But that's just the beginning. Greg's best buddy, Kent and Kent 's wife, Carly also enter into the picture, and the emotional equation becomes exponentially more complicated. As their relationships crumble, the four friends are forced to confront a sea of deceit, infidelity and betrayed trust in their journey to answer that oh-so-American question, "How much is pretty worth?" A hopelessly romantic comic-drama about the hopelessness of romance.
