STAGES ST. LOUIS invites you into the magical world of Disney's Cinderella, for its Theatre for Young Audiences production, this June 19-30 at the Skip Viragh Center for the Arts at Chaminade College Preparatory School. Disney's treasured retelling of everyone's favorite fairy tale comes to glorious life on stage with an enchanting score including, the Disney anthem, "A Dream Is a Wish Your Heart Makes," and the magical "Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo".Disney's Cinderella will charm its way into your heart, and once again remind you that dreams really do come true!
Delighting audiences worldwide, first on the silver screen in 1950,
Walt Disney based the famed ingénue on the protagonist of the 1697 story by
Charles Perrault, titled Cendrillon. Considered by some as the princess movie that started it all, Cinderella was the second animated Disney Princess film (Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs being the first) in what would be the start of a long line of successful princess stories throughout the decades to follow. Cinderella, to this day, remains as one of Disney's most celebrated princesses.
The timeless tale of Cinderella, endlessly mistreated by her wicked stepmother and stepsisters and denied a chance to attend the Royal Ball, has touched audiences for over 60 years. With a wave of the magical wand, Cinderella is transformed into a beautiful princess and escorted to the ball in classic fairy tale style; she meets the handsome Prince, falls deeply in love, and lives happily ever after!
