Stages St. Louis will host PUTTING IT TOGETHER, a one-night-only cabaret event benefiting the organization's Education and Artistic Programs. PUTTING IT TOGETHER will feature some of Stages' favorite talents. Executive producer Jack Lane and special guests will perform alongside Casey Erin Clark, currently playing Maria in Stages' production of THE SOUND OF MUSIC, and Ben Nordstrom, making his highly anticipated St. Louis return. Casey has recently finished the 25th Anniversary Tour of LES MISERABLES as both a Factory Girl and the understudy to Fantine. Ben Nordstrom received Kevin Kline Awards for Lead Actor in a Musical for the 2010 Stages St. Louis production of PROMISES, PROMISES and 2005 production of FOOTLOOSE.
Conceived and directed by artistic director Michael Hamilton, PUTTING IT TOGETHER will be held on Monday, August 13 at the Robert G. Reim Theatre in Kirkwood. The event opens at 6:30PM with a reception and fun pre-show activities. The performance begins at 7:30PM.
PUTTING IT TOGETHER is an homage to the classic format of cabaret which first made its way into the American theatre scene early in the 20th century. Hosted by a 'master of ceremonies', cabaret is a more intimate style of theatre defined by the performance venue and the performers themselves.
Performances will include the immortal lyrics of Stephen Sondheim as well as songs made famous by other Broadway icons. The audience will be treated to excerpts from classic American musicals such as HOW TO SUCCEED IN BUSINESS WITHOUT REALLY TRYING, GUYS AND DOLLS, and more. PUTTING IT TOGETHER is a celebration of the best of American Musical Theatre.
