STAGES ST. LOUIS is happy to announce three new additions to the administrative staff. Gary Mudd, CPA assumed the position of Development Director in January of this year, Eric Pugh recently began as Marketing Director and Susan Mintz has assumed the position of Assistant Development Director for the theatre.
"I am thrilled to bring my financial acumen and creative energy to STAGES," commenTed Gary Mudd. With a career spanning two decades, Gary has been a licensed, certified public accountant, a chief financial officer, a philanthropy executive raising in excess of $18 million, and a director of marketing, public relations, and branding. Most recently he was a principal with H&R Block and key member of an executive team that launched a new corporate brand. In that role he led market-wide business development for nine offices specializing in preparing complex tax returns and operated two offices serving over 1,400 clients. He has also served on various boards and advisory committees throughout the metropolitan area and first worked with STAGES in the late 1980's as a volunteer for St. Louis VLAA.
Eric Pugh joins STAGES after recently serving as Marketing Director for Florida Studio Theatre in Sarasota, Florida. Eric received his Bachelor of Arts in Business and Organizational Communication from the University of Akron in Akron, Ohio. His education experience included an abroad study of Communications in London, England and work at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum in Cleveland, Ohio. He previously worked as Public Relations Manager at the World's Largest Professional Dinner Theatre, Carousel Dinner Theatre (Akron, Ohio) and served as Marketing Director for Cleveland Cinemas, a movie theatre chain (Cleveland, Ohio). Eric stated, "It is a great season to join STAGES, with its remarkable line-up and the 25th Anniversary next season."
A native of San Francisco, Susan Mintz initially moved to St. Louis to attend graduate school at Washington University, earning an M.A. in Germanic Languages & Literatures. Having received a strong foundation in pedagogy, she joined the Missouri Botanical Garden as an Instructor. Graduate school drew Susan West, to Portland, Oregon. There, she earned an M.S. in Ecology and Science Education from Portland State University. She returned to St. Louis in 2004 to serve as Outreach Coordinator, again at the Missouri Botanical Garden. For the past five years, Susan served as Executive Director of The Green Center, an educational organization that provides hands-on instruction integrating science and the arts, and training in native habitat restoration. In this role, Susan oversaw a variety of projects and programs, including a successful capital campaign to enable construction of an on-site solar-powered greenhouse. Mintz remarked, "I'm excited to join the STAGES development team to support this fabulous professional theatre and its groundbreaking educational initiatives."
The recipient of twenty Kevin Kline Awards over the past five years, six in 2010, STAGES was founded in 1987 and has become the leading company for musical theatre performance and education in the Midwest.
