Sister is back and better than ever! Emery Entertainment in association with Entertainment Events, Inc. is delighted to announce a special holiday presentation of "Sister's Christmas Catechism: The Mystery of the Magi's Gold" at the Playhouse @ Westport Plaza, November 24-December 3.
Tickets for this miraculous night of mystery and mayhem are on sale now, and may be purchased through MetroTix at www.metrotix.com or by calling 314/534-1111. Additionally, tickets will be available at the Playhouse @ Westport Plaza box office one hour prior to show time. All seats are $50.
Think "CSI: Bethlehem" in this holiday mystery extravaganza, from the author of the wildly popular "Late Nite Catchism," as Sister takes on the mystery that has intrigued historians throughout the ages - whatever happened to the Magi's gold? As Sister states, "We know that Mary used the frankincense and myrrh as a sort of potpourri - they were in a barn after all." Retelling the story of the nativity, as only Sister can, SISTER'S CHRISTMAS CATECHISM is bound to become an annual classic. Employing her own scientific tools, assisted by a local choir, and a gaggle of audience members, Sister creates a living nativity unlike anything anyone has ever seen. Highly interactive with gifts galore and a bundle of laughs, this show is a must-see for the holiday season.
Starring as Sister is Mary F. Zentmyer who has toured in this production at various times since 2007. No stranger to the habit, Zentmyer has performed as Sister in "Late Nite Catechism" in 2000 and "Late Nite Catechism 3 - 'Til Death Do Us Part" since 2010. She regularly performs as Sister in her home town of Chicago at the Royal George Theatre where "Late Nite Catechism" has been running since 1993. Zentmyer has a B.A. in Speech & Performing Arts from Northeastern Illinois University and has performed in plays since she was 10 years old; professionally since 1991. She was raised Catholic and taught by the School Sisters of St. Francis. She has gleaned some of her character from Sister Zoerita at Alvernia High School, her whacky and beloved teacher of Biology and Anatomy & Physiology.
The Playhouse @ Westport Plaza is located at 635 Westport Plaza in Maryland Heights, Missouri and is a venue filling a niche for a variety of Broadway and Off-Broadway entertainment that would otherwise not find its way to the St. Louis area.
