The Kranzberg Arts Foundation's newest project focused on its commitment to make St. Louis a world-class center for the arts - the .ZACK Performing Arts Incubator - is pleased to announce its Selection Committee will begin reaching out to and accepting proposals from area performing arts organizations to become its first residents. The committee will select up to six companies to make .ZACK their home, where they will share the following amenities:
· Theater with proscenium style stage and 202-seat capacity
· Full theater lighting and audio package
· Private green room/dressing room
· Grand lobby with bar, box office and elevator access
· Co-op office space including Wi-Fi, printing, conference table, kitchenette, desk stations and private bathrooms
· Community Scene Shop/Build Room including separate build and paint rooms, table saw, miter saw, work tables, laundry sink and 8 'x 15' freight elevator
· Prop/Set Storage - Each company will have a 15' x 20' private storage unit
· Other- Restaurant Space, Private event spaces, Parking
The .ZACK Performing Arts Incubator Selection Committee is comprised of esteemed members of the local arts community including: Roseann Weiss (Regional Arts Commission), Peggy Holly (Grand Center Theater Crawl), Larry Mabrey (Circus Flora), Chris Hansen (Kranzberg Arts Foundation), and Cynthia Prost (Arts & Education Council). The Committee will begin directly contacting local performing arts groups and taking open submissions on May 2, 2016 and plans to make its selections by July 15, 2016. The Incubator is scheduled to be open and plans to host its first theater production in January 2017.
Performing arts organizations submitting proposals to become .ZACK Incubator residents must meet the following requirements:
· Must show a proven track record/ history of successful productions
· Must be established with at least three years in business
· Must be able to make a two-year commitment
· Must write a letter describing why their theater company should be selected and how the incubator will benefit them
Once all proposals have been carefully considered, the committee will select up to six organizations for the opportunity to become a resident of the .ZACK Performing Arts Incubator and enjoy its amenities for an affordable monthly investment. Other area arts organizations will also have opportunities to use the .ZACK's community scene shop and theater.
