Sean Michael, St. Louis actor and director, announces the launch of THE Q COLLECTIVE, a new professional theatre company producing theatre that explores gender and sexuality, and emphasizes the development of local playwrights and composers, in an atmosphere of respect and openness while also encouraging risk-taking and truth-telling.
Founder and artistic director Sean Michael launches this new venture with founding board members Ashley Netzhammer, DDare Bionic, and Jordan Zeitler. In its first venture, The Q Collective will produce THE COMING OUT PLAY FESTIVAL, six 15-minute short plays exploring the "coming out" experience, directed by three veteran St. Louis theatre artists: Carl Overly, Jr., Sarah Holt, and Taylor Gruenloh. Actors and playwrights for the festival will be announced Sept. 15. Performances of THE COMING OUT PLAY FESTIVAL are Friday and Saturday, October 19 at 7:00 PM and October 20 at 4:30 PM and 8:00 PM. Tickets are $15 in advance through Eventbrite.com or $20 at the door. All performances are at The Monocle, 4510 Manchester Avenue, St. Louis, MO 63110.Videos
