R-S Theatrics is excited to announce its eighth season opener Light in the Piazza with the lush music of Adam Guettel (Floyd Collins), and the book by Craig Lucas (Prelude to a Kiss) has distilled ElizaBeth Spencer's novella to a poignant tale about the essence of love. This production will continue R-S Theatrics residence with the Kranzberg Arts Organization.

Light in the Piazza - Set in Florence and Rome in 1953, a young American tourist traveling with her mother meets and falls for a young Italian. The mother opposes the affair for reasons that only gradually become apparent as the musical unfolds.

Music and lyrics are by the grandson of Richard Rodgers. Based on the novella by ElizaBeth Spencer, it was developed at the Intiman Playhouse in Seattle in 2003, then played at the Goodman Theatre in Chicago in 2004 before moving to Broadway in 2005.

R-S Theatrics Light in the Piazza is taking the grand setting of Italy and creating an intimate blackbox setting to explore the more intimate dynamics at play. R-S Theatrics is absolutely thrilled to continue working within the Kranzberg Family.

Currently, R-S Theatrics is producing its seventh season, opening it largest production to date Lin-Manuel Miranda's In the Heights. Season Tickets are now on sale for starting at $120.00.

In the Heights is set in New York City's vibrant Washington Heights, where the coffee from the corner shop is light and sweet, the windows are always open, and the breeze carries the rhythm of three generations of music. It's a community on the brink of change, full of hopes and dreams, where the biggest struggles can be deciding which traditions you take with you, and which ones you leave behind. The groundbreaking music and lyrics by Lin-Manuel Miranda and book by Quiara Alegría Hudes tell the universal story of chasing your dreams and finding your true home

In December 2017, R-S Theatrics will premier The Flick, a play by Annie Baker. Winner of the 2014 Pulitzer Prize, The Flick welcomes you to a rundown movie theatre in Worcester County, MA, where Sam, Avery and Rose are navigating lives as sticky as the soda under the seats. The movies on the big screen are no match for the tiny battles and not so tiny heartbreaks that play out in the empty aisles.
