Insight Theatre Company will be celebrating their 11th Season and 2nd year as a .ZACK resident arts organizations. "I am thrilled to announce that Insight will be performing their 2018 season at the Kranzberg Arts Center, The Grandel and the .ZACK.," states Maggie Ryan, Insight's Artistic Director. "our upcoming season offers the comedy/drama THE LAST ROMANCE which reminds us that it is never too late to be in love; the Oscar Wilde classic comedy THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST with a surprise performance; "women in science" will be emphasized in SILENT SKY, a moving production about the remarkable Astronomer Henrietta Leavitt; and our annual intern show will be the warm hearted and entertaining musical HONK. We believe we have a wonderful 11th season offering terrific INSIGHTS in a variety of productions with superb casts."
Over the past ten years, Insight has produced high quality plays and musicals with the intent to entertain, inspire, and reveal the complexity of the human spirit. In doing so, they have garnered numerous accolades, including a total of 53 nominations and 20 wins from the St. Louis Theater Circle, the Kevin Kline Awards and BroadwayWorld.com Awards. 2017 St. Louis Theater Circle nominations include: Gwen Wotowa-Best Supporting actress in a Comedy for BASKERVILLE: A SHERLOCK HOLMES MYSTERY and John Flack-Best Supporting Actor in a Musical for NEXT TO NORMAL.

THE LAST ROMANCE, March 2-18

A comedy/drama written by Joe DiPietro, directed by Alan Knoll. The Last Romance is about an opera-loving American in his 70s who once auditioned for the Met. Currently widowed, he meets an attractive woman named Carol while living with his sister Rose. This humorous and tender play will leave audiences of all ages with the idea that it is never too late to feel alive! Stars Joneal Joplin, Maggie Ryan, Tommy Nolan. THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST, July 12-22
Grandel Theatre
This the Oscar Wilde classic comedy offers a surprise performance: Lady Bracknell will be played by St. Louis favorite Tom Murray and Miss Prism will be played by Nine Network's veteran talent, Ruth Ezell. Ed Reggi directs.

This moving production about the brilliant Astronomer Henrietta Leavitt, who made remarkable discoveries in the early 1900's, will emphasize "women in science". Maggie Ryan directs.
In addition to three theatrical productions, their 2018 season includes entertaining evenings of trivia, improv and a theatre crawl. Their Mardi Gras Trivia Night fundraiser on February 10 from 7-10pm at the Webster Groves Masonic Lodge (12 E. Lockwood Ave, Webster Groves, 63119) will serve as a kick off to their season event calendar. Tickets are $25 per person or $200 for a table of 8 and include two drink tickets per person. The evening will include a Heads or Tails, Dead or Alive, 50/50 raffle, door prizes and a silent auction. Insight Improv Late Nite is scheduled for June 15 at .ZACK with host and improv special artist Ed Reggi.
As part of its continuing efforts to further community outreach, Insight will be participating in both the Theatre Communication Group National Convention (June 14-16) with Artistic Director Maggie Ryan on the host committee and board members and interns donating their time to help at the conference. Insight Theatre will once again be a part of the Grand Center Theatre Crawl, now in its 6th year, with six performances on June 29th.
One of the facets that makes Insight unique is that in addition to producing artistically excellent works, they offer students positions as interns in their professional company so that they can learn all aspects of theatre production and benefit from the expertise of professional actors, designers and directors. On August 3-5, their interns will also present their annual Theatre for Young Audiences Show, HONK! Past productions have included Madagascar - A Musical Adventure!, James and the Giant Peach, Seussical, Charlotte's Web, You're a Good Man Charlie Brown, Alice in Wonderland and Free to Be, You and Me.
