The Imaginary Theatre Company, the young audiences touring ensemble of The Repertory Theatre of St. Louis, will present a hysterical and modern version of Bah! Humbug! this holiday season. Adapted from A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens with book, music and lyrics by Jack Herrick, this 45-minute performance, suitable for all ages, is a musical adventure that reminds us of the true meaning of Christmas and the importance of giving.
Bah! Humbug! plays tonight, Dec. 13, 20, 22 and 23, at 11 a.m., as well as 3 p.m. performances on Dec 13, 20 and 21, at the Heagney Theatre on the campus of Nerinx Hall High School, 530 East Lockwood Avenue, Webster Groves. Tickets are $7.

The Imaginary Theatre Company series includes three productions performed at schools, libraries and community centers throughout the St. Louis area October through April. The series introduces live theatre to children through the use of literature, folk tales, fairy tales and new adaptations of classic works and also includes special public performances.

The cast of Bah! Humbug! is Alan Knoll as Scrooge; Kristin McGuire as Little Beggar Girl, Little Polly, Ghost of Christmas Present and Mrs. Cratchit; Jason Contini as Man, Cratchit, Marley's Ghost and Ghost of Christmas Past; Laurie McConnell as Woman, Polly's Mama, Tiny Tim and Ghost of Christmas Future.
The creative staff also includes Alan Knoll, director; Neal Richardson, music director; Scott Loebl, scenic designer; Garth Dunbar, costume designer; and Mike Dowdy, stage manager.
