HotCity Theatre returns to the stage as a trio of designers participate in a fundraiser to promote their lines of clothing and raise funds for HotCity Theatre's fall season. Melissa Rae Brown of Penny Rae Vintage, Paul Gibson of Reign, and Stephanie Asbed and Carol Ivcich of Ivcich & Asbed will bring their newest designs to the Kranzberg Arts Center Stage for a night of food, drink, fashion, and music.
The unique fashion/fundraiser fusion brings together three upcoming St. Louis designers and pairs them with models from local agencies. Produced by artists and staff from HotCity Theatre, Washington University, and the Touhill Performing Arts Center, this fundraiser will raise money for HotCity's upcoming productions of Jennifer Haley's video game thriller, Neighborhood 3: Requisition of Doom and the anti-holiday comedy, The Eight: Reindeer Monologues by Jeff Goode.
"Fashion shows are much like Contemporary Stage productions with a different focus and energy. HotCity's experience on unique Stage Entertainment fits perfectly with the needs of creating an exciting showcase for these designers, at the same time making for an entertaining evening for the audience. We are excited to have our professional artists feature three fun, unique, and accessible clothing lines," says John Armstrong, HotCity's Managing Director. "This won't be your grandma's trivia night fundraiser, but rather the chance to promote St. Louis' growing interest in fashion by offering a unique show in the intimate space of the Kranzberg black box theatre."
The Hot-Fashion 2009 fashion show will be held at 8pm on Saturday, August 29th, at the Kranzberg Arts Center Black Box and Studio, in the Big Brothers Big Sisters Building at 501 N. Grand in Grand Center. Doors will open at 7pm.
