A witty two-hander from The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time playwright Simon Stephens, Heisenberg is a sharp and inspiring opener for The Rep's 2017-2018 Studio season. Directed by Steven Woolf, the production runs October 25 - November 12 in the Emerson Studio Theatre.
A serendipitous encounter at a London train station propels two very different people into a shared orbit. Georgie (Susan Louise O'Connor) is crass, deeply odd and impulsive. On a whim, she kisses the neck of Alex (Joneal Joplin), a much older and more subdued man who is sitting by himself. In the unexpected conversations that follow, Georgie and Alex discover shared passions amidst the uncertainty of personal connection. This life-affirming play uncovers the extraordinary in the everyday. Joplin, last seen as Marley in 2016's A Christmas Carol, returns for his 101st Rep production, and his first in the Studio since 1996's Ghosts. O'Connor stars opposite him in her second Rep production, following her Kevin Kline Award-nominated performance in 2011's God of Carnage. Her resume includes appearing alongside Angela Lansbury in the Broadway and national touring productions of Blithe Spirit, as well as TV roles on Orange is the New Black and Boardwalk Empire.Videos
