Dakota Grizzly has announced its inaugural participation in the 2018 LouFest in St. Louis this fall, Sept 8-9. Dakota Grizzly will be found in three major activation areas during the two-day music extravaganza.
Dakota Grizzly is a local apparel brand with a grassroots following of makers, artisans, and craftsman across the country. As proud St. Louis Midwest Makers themselves, the brand will host a Midwest Makers section in the festival's VIP area, as well as limited edition LouFest apparel available on site in the merchandise areas. Local Midwest Makers will be on handcrafting creations, The Wandering Sidecar will be mixing cocktails, and there will be plenty of opportunities for guests to win their very own Dakota Grizzly gear. You can also find Dakota Grizzly in the artist hang out area.
Dakota Grizzly has collaborated with LouFest to create custom LouFest merchandise at this year's merch tent. The festival's creators partnered with the brand to create exclusive Dakota Grizzly x LOUFEST works shirts for the hundreds of staff and crew - the biggest group of 'Makers' of all - whose hard work will bring the festival to life.
Rob Rosenblum, co-owner and CEO at Dakota Grizzly, shares his excitement: "We decided there was no better way to get involved with our community than through amazing music, great musicians and a local festival! We are over-the-top excited to be one of the major sponsors for LouFest and have planned three areas to showcase our craft and that of our local Midwest Makers."
LouFest announced its largest lineup ever with Modest Mouse and legendary rock artist Robert Plant and the Sensational Space Shifters headlining the festival, which will again include a diverse range of artists from indie rock to hip-hop to country. Musicians from St. Louis will be featured heavily, including veteran Michael McDonald and several local jazz, heritage, and roots & blues bands from the Kranzberg Arts Foundation artist-in-residence program that will perform on a fourth stage.
The 2017 event was a sell-out with more than 60,000 attending over the two days. It was held on the Upper Muny Grounds and Festival Plaza, and will again in 2018, as Forest Park's Central Fields remain under renovation.
"We couldn't be more excited about the size and depth of the 2018 lineup," says Mike Van Hee, Managing Partner with Listen Live Entertainment. "St. Louis loves the rock legends as much as the modern innovators, and LouFest 2018 delivers on both more than ever before." Major sponsors include Enterprise, AB-InBev, Rebel Yell Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey, Express Scripts, the Kranzberg Arts Foundation and Dakota Grizzly.
