COCA presents Tall Stories' Snail and the Whale, this weekend, March 22-23, 2014, in COCA's Founders' Theatre.
A tiny snail hitches a lift on the tail of a humpback whale in order to see the world. But when the whale gets beached, how will the snail save him? Based on the beloved children's book by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler, Snail and the Whale follows the tiny snail's amazing journey as seen through the eyes of an adventurous young girl and her seafaring father. Created and performed by Tall Stories, creator of The Gruffalo (at COCA, 2013) and Twinkle Twonkle (at COCA, 2012), Snail and the Whale is recommended for ages 3 to 10.
Tickets ($16-20) are available for purchase online at www.cocastl.org, by phone at 314.561.4877 or in person at COCA during box office hours.
Tall Stories was founded in 1997 by Olivia Jacobs and Toby Mitchell, who serve as joint artistic directors.
Tall Stories shows have performed throughout the UK and as far afield as Poland, America, Canada, China and Taiwan. Snow White and The Gruffalo have performed to sell-out audiences on Broadway, and Tall Stories shows have been produced by local companies in Chile, Singapore and Australia. Their production of The Gruffalo was released on DVD by the Really Useful Group, and a picture book was published based on their production of The Snow Dragon.
