Avalon Theatre Company announces their 2010 - 2011 Season.
The Good Doctor by Neil Simon, playing November 11 - 21, 2010.In the late 1800's, Russia's preeminent literary doctor, Anton Chekhov, wrote humorous newspaper articles to pay for medical school. Neil Simon, Broadway's master of comedy, elegantly weaves eight of Chekhov's stories into a laugh-out-loud vaudeville experience featuring droll stories, affectionate portraits, infectious humor, and unending fun.
The Price by Arthur Miller, playing February 3 - 13, 2011.Set in 1960's New York, this essential Arthur Miller drama examines the relationship of two long-estranged brothers who meet after many years to dispose of their late father's belongings. With compassion, humor, and rare insight, Miller exposes the brothers' life decisions which have resulted in missed opportunities and seething resentments.
Agnes of God by John Pielmeier, playing April 28 - May 8, 2011.A psychiatrist is appointed by the court to determine whether or not a seemingly innocent young nun, Sister Agnes, is mentally competent to stand trial for the death of an infant whose body was mysteriously found in her room at the convent. The convent's Mother Superior is determined to protect Agnes. What is the real truth - was there a murder or a miracle? The answers change the doctor's life, and the lives of the two women of faith, forever.
Tickets go on sale August 16. Avalon's walk-up box office will be open August 16 - September 3 (Tues - Fri from 10:00 am - 1:00 pm) for patrons who wish to purchase season tickets in person.
