The 21st annual National Dance Week (NDW) St. Louis is set to kick off on Saturday, April 28th, at Grand Center, the Heart of the Arts and Entertainment District, located at Washington and Grand. The FREE outdoor event will begin at noon and will feature the 2018 NDW Honorary Dance Company, Consuming Kinetics Dance Company (CKDC) under the artistic direction of Arica Brown.
In the event of inclement weather, the event will be held at the Third Baptist Church at the corner of Washington and Grand using the Washington Street entrance.
Over 50 dance troupes and hundreds of dancers including The Big Muddy Dance Company, MADCO 2, WU Dance Collective, Webster University Dance Ensemble, Ashleyliane Dance Company and Dances of India.
NDW features a variety of dance including ballet, jazz, tap, hip-hop, modern disciplines, as well as Chinese, African, Middle Eastern, and Indian.
The event will also host a variety of food trucks.
The Emcee for the event will be Keith Tyronne Williams, an arts educator, Keith serves as Chair of Theatre at Grand Center Arts Academy in St. Louis, MO.
