An opera based on a 12th century Provençal legend about a powerful lord who commissions a book about his family. The book's contents cause his submissive wife Agnès to rebel: she seduces the young writer and makes him change the book so that her husband can see her as she really is. The stage is set for the gruesomely tragic ending.
Opera in three parts. Libretto by Martin Crimp based on the legend of the troubadour Guillaume de Cabestanh, reproduced by Giovanni Boccaccio in the Decameron. World premiere: 07/07/2012 at the Festival of Aix-en-Provence. First performance in Spain
