Two great masters of symphonic form come together: Felix Mendelssohn – represented by one of his most popular overtures and one of his most representative violin concertos, played by the Liceu's first violin, Kai Gleeusten – and P. I. Tchaikovsky – represented by his 6th Symphony, which is unusual on account of the order and structure of the movements.
