Homage to Granados at Gran Teatre del Liceu

For this programme to mark the centenary of the death of Enric Granados, José Carlos Martínez, the director of Spain's Compañía Nacional de Danza, has chosen music and choreographies that link the composer to other great musicians through the idiom of dance.

The production consists of four very different works. Homenatge a Granados features a choreography by Kirilov that will receive its first ever showing at the Liceu. Two other works will be danced for the first time by the CND: The Vertiginous Thrill of Exactitude, choreographed by Forsythe to music by Schubert, and In the Night, choreographed by Jerome Robbins to piano music by Chopin. The programme concludes with Raymonda Divertimento, to music by Glazunov, with a choreography by José Carlos Martínez.
