Albert Boadella portrays the zarzuela composer, Amadeo Vives.
A newspaper from Barcelona commissions a young journalist, who is into hard rock, to write an article about the great zarzuela composer, Amadeo Vives. His research into the musician from Catalonia, whose existence he was totally unaware of, leads him to imagine his life and works. Zarzuela passages, such as “Doña Francisquita”, “Bohemios”, “Maruxa” or “La Generala” appear through a plot that combines drama and humour, along with erotic songs and folk songs created in the composer’s youth. As his fantasy relationship with Vives develops, the young journalist changes his concepts about art, life and politics.
