The JEKYLL AND HYDE World Tour has added one more Broadway star that will take the stage in South Korea: Kyle Dean Massey.
As previously reported on BroadwayWorld, the show stars Bradley Dean (Henry Jekyll and Edward Hyde), Diana DeGarmo (Lucy Harris), and Lindsey Bliven (Emma Carew). According to YonHap News, the press conference in South Korea for the show today revealed that Kyle Dean Massey and Bradley Dean would play Jekyll and Hyde.
Director David Swan said that, "The basics of the show, and the things that made it special, are still going to be there -- But I think it will be more exciting now because we are going to have a new take on the set. We've had some very talented Korean actors in the show, but having a Broadway cast, having these very amazing actors, and with American sensibility, I think it's going to add another level of excitement that I think will be very interesting for Korean audiences."
Shin Chun-soo, chief executive of the OD Company, was also in attendance at the conference, speaking highly of the production, "I'm confident that the audience will be able to enjoy a well-made, fresh production (of this hit musical)."
The world tour will kick off in Daegu on Dec. 1, and move on to other Korean cities, including Daejeon, Busan and Gimhae. The musical will hit Seoul in March 2017. Depending on the performance of the show, the crew will take off to Asia and the U.S.
JEKYLL AND HYDE is a joint work between Korea's OD Company and U.S.-based Work Light Company.
