In the hard-hitting New York comedy world, D.C. Benny is a heavyweight contender. His unorthodox style of comedic storytelling, seasoned with original characters, has earned him a diverse and enthusiastic fan base over the last 26 years.As an English major at the University of Maryland, he entered a talent show and got big laughs doing impressions of all of his professors. He soon became a fixture at local comedy clubs in the D.C. area before moving to Brooklyn, New York.Once in New York, he made a name for himself as a white comic who was happy to work the urban rooms in addition to performing at mainstream comedy clubs. Benny made his television debut on Showtime at the Apollo, and has since performed all over the U.S. and toured internationally.Many of his fans know Benny from his dramatic film and television roles. He has been seen on multiple episodes of Law and Order and had a long run on the daytime drama As the World Turns. He has also appeared in many feature films, including Freedomland with Samuel Jackson and John Singletons Illegal Tender.Additional credits include Comedy Centrals Premium Blend, HBOs The Chris Rock Show, NBCs The Cosby Show and The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson. The main character in Budweisers popular How You Doin? Super Bowl spots, Benny has also been in numerous national commercials for Verizon, Dell, Volkswagen and Wendys. His Comedy Central half-hour special is one of the highest rated in the networks history, and he was a top 8 finalist on Season 8 of Last Comic Standing.
