Join the Charleston Symphony in a night of classical masterworks led by Jonathon Heyward. Lowcountry roots run deep, as the internationally-acclaimed Maestro is no stranger to Charleston; having grown up here, he was a shining star of the Charleston Symphony Youth Orchestra (CSYO). Coming full-circle, the CSYO joins the orchestra onstage for Florence Price’s Dances in the Canebrakes.
Also on the program is violinist Vadim Gluzman, one of the most celebrated performing international soloists performing Beethoven’s Violin Concerto on his 1690 ‘ex-Leopold Auer’ Stradivari. This star-studded program ends with Tchaikovsky’s Sixth Symphony, one of the greatest Romantic era compositions of all time, filled with luscious melodies you will not soon forget.
Tickets to these performances on January 5 & 7 are available online at charlestonsymphony.org.
