The Carolina Youth Symphony Comes to Peace Center Concert Hall

The Carolina Youth Symphony performs on Sunday, October 21st at 5:00pm in the Peace Center Concert Hall. The Symphony Orchestra, under the baton of Dr. Leslie Hicken, will be joined on the concert by 21 members of the Greenville Symphony Orchestra.

Guest artist for the concert will be CYS alumnus, Dr. Gordon Hicken, marimba, performing Emmanuel Sejourne's "Concerto for Marimba and Strings." The Symphony Orchestra will also perform selections by Copland, Holst and Liszt.

The Concert Orchestra, conducted by Mr. James Kilgus, and the Repertory Orchestra, conducted by Mrs. Ginger Greer, will also perform on the concert.

The Carolina Youth Symphony is one of the premiere youth orchestras in the South East, with 3 orchestras consisting of 250 gifted musicians from 2 states, 41 cities and 80 schools. There is a rigorous audition process in order to be accepted into the orchestra.
