Backstage drama Gypsy, to take the stage at the Award Winning Arts Center of Coastal Carolina.
Gypsy, begins previews April 29 and opens May 1. Shannon Lee Jones plays the iconic Mama Rose in the Arts Center of Coastal Carolina's production of "Gypsy". Revered by theatre aficionados and fans as the quintessential book musical of the Golden Era of Broadway. Based on the memoirs of the infamous Gypsy Rose Lee, "Gypsy" is a whirlwind backstage drama, centered around a driving Mother (Jones) and her two young daughters, in their journey from lodge halls to the grandest theaters of Vaudeville and finally into Burlesque.
Directed by Broadway World Award Winner Casey Colgan, the production also stars Stephen Day as Rose's love interest Herbie, and Sarah Claire Smith as her shy daughter Louise, who during the course of the play transforms into burlesque superstar, Gypsy Rose Lee.
The production also features Caitlin Rebecca Wilayto as Dainty June, Nic Thompson as Tulsa and Jan Leigh Herndon, Meghan Moroney, and Cat Yates as the showstopping strippers Tessie Tura, Mezeppa, and Electra respectively.
Rounding out the cast is Tom Bengston, Broderick Copeland, Randy Dierkes, Caleb Dicke, Jack Firestone, Alexska Kurbalia, Hannah Marie Lanford, Katie LaDuca, Cassie Maurer, Katie Maurer, Lana Neuman, Rachel Stratton, Matthew Davey, Trey Middleton, Harrison D Leahy, Luke Herman, Drew Taylor, Paul Tebrake, Delaney Yurco.
