"Swing '39," the winner of the Trustus Theatre Playwrights' Festival, will have its debut on the theater's stage at 8 p.m. this Friday.
The scene is 1930's New York and big band and jazz was extremely popular. So was Benny Goodman, the clarinetist known as The King of Swing. "Swing '39" revolves around East Harlem and 18-year-old Maggie DiNapoli's relationship with Goodman. The play, which runs through Aug. 20, was written by Alessandro King and it will be directed by Chad Henderson.
Ticket prices are Wednesday & Thursday $20.00, Friday & Saturday $22.50, & Sunday $17.50.
