Old Crow Medicine Show Performing Blonde on Blonde comes to the Peace Center on Saturday, Oct. 21, at 8 p.m.
Last year, to mark the 50th anniversary of Bob Dylan's album Blonde on Blonde, Old Crow Medicine Show performed Dylan's classic recording in full at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum. They have since released the live album 50 Years of Blonde on Blonde, and will play it in its entirety on their upcoming tour, coming to the Peace Center. The album and tour allow the band to explore new territory while paying homage to their biggest influence.
Old Crow Medicine Show started busking on street corners in New York and Canada in 1998. They eventually made their way to Boone, N.C, where folk icon Doc Watson helped launch their career. The band has since been inducted into the Grand Ole Opry, and they have won two Grammy Awards: Best Folk Album for Remedy (2014) and Best Long Form Music Video for Big Easy Express (2013). Their classic single "Wagon Wheel" received the RIAA's Platinum certification in 2013 for selling more than one million copies. They now have five studio albums to their name.
The band has toured the world, playing renowned festivals and venues like Bonnaroo, Coachella, The Ryman Auditorium and The Kennedy Center. They have toured with artists such as Willie Nelson & Family, Brandi Carlile, Mumford & Sons, The Avett Brothers and others.
