NarroWay Directors Announce Retirement of Show In order to make room for shows that have been added, the directors of NarroWay Productions have announced the retirement of "Fishes and Loaves." The long-time favorite will not be included in the 2011 schedule.

Tickets are still available for the three remaining 2010 show dates - June 25 & 26 and July 10. A 6:30pm performance may also be added on July 9 if the available dates fill.

"Fishes and Loaves" has been featured at NarroWay Productions for seven years. The show was first performed in 2003, outdoors at King's Arena amphitheatre. It continued to run there until NarroWay moved from that facility in 2005. The directors re-opened "Fishes and Loaves" indoors at the NarroWay Theatre in 2007.

The decision to retire the show was logistical. Directors Yvonne Clark and Rebecca Martin have written and produced three new original shows that were added to the 2010 schedule. Currently, NarroWay offers 14 different shows as well as two day-time field trip events. "We have to adjust what we offer if we are going to have time for new shows to run," says Martin. That adjustment means pulling something from our 2011 schedule." Because "Fishes and Loaves" is the longest currently running show - with the exception of the holiday favorite, "The Real Christmas Story" - it was the natural choice. "Fishes and Loaves" is the first show to close its run since NarroWay moved indoors to the NarroWay Theatre in 2006. "Fishes and Loaves" is a biblical-based production featuring the parables of Jesus. The show moves quickly from one story to the other, all the while weaving in and out through exerts of the classic parable of the prodigal son. Live animals and a
diverse cast of all ages bring each story to life. Within the context of the show, dinner is served by the cast when the miracle of the feeding of the 5000 as recorded in the gospels is portrayed. The
meal, however, is not limited to "fishes and loaves."

Each dinner includes deep-fried fish as well as a chicken breast, a home-made bread loaf, potato fries, traditional dates and nuts and a fruit turnover. The show appeals to people of all ages and walks of life. But it has become a particular favorite of senior adult groups, as it features many older hymns that are not often sung in churches today. Director Yvonne Clark composed brand-new arrangements of beautiful hymns such as "The Love of God," "Nobody Knows the Trouble I've Seen," and "Standin' in the Need of Prayer." In addition to the new arrangements of classic hymns, the show also includes a song written by Martin and Clark in Hebrew.
