Columbia Children's Theatre (CCT), the Midlands' only professional theatre for families and young audiences, will host its second annual fundraiser, Review Revue 2: Around the World with CCT, beginning at 6:00 PM on Friday March 7, 2014. Tickets are $15.00 per person and can be purchased online at www.columbiachildrenstheatre.com. Audiences of all ages have enjoyed high-quality family entertainment from Columbia Children's Theatre for nearly ten seasons and this special event will feature many of the high points of the past 51 Mainstage and YouTheatre productions in a festive evening that includes hors d'oeuvres, a cash bar, and a silent auction with items such as a Gamecock football signed by Steve Spurrier, signed puppets made by Donna Harvey, summer camps, and more.

Headlining the second annual benefit gala will be veteran Columbia actor/singers Kim Harne, Lee O. Smith, Evelyn Clary, Paul Lindley II, and CCT Artistic Director Jerry Stevenson in numbers from School House Rock Live!, A Year with Frog and Toad, and The Phantom of the Opera. Performances from CCT YouTheatre include Aladdin, The Wizard of Oz and Willy Wonka.

Review Revue 2: Around the World with CCT is being produced by CCT's S.T.A.R (Student Thespians Achieving Results) program, a philanthropic group that allows Columbia area youth to participate in performance opportunities benefiting nonprofits. Each semester student actors research their own nonprofits and make a presentation to the entire group which works together to select an organization to benefit from the group's efforts. Previous nonprofits to which the CCT S.T.A.R program has made donations include the Ronald McDonald House and The Oliver Gospel Mission. Pamela Chalfant, director of the organization says, "the group is excited to provide an avenue through which the community can also give back to the theatre."

The event begins at 6:00 p.m. and is being held at Columbia Children's Theatre on the 2nd level of Richland Mall, 3400 Forest Drive. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased online at www.columbiachildrenstheatre.com. For more information contact CCT at 803-691-4548.
