"THE LAST NIGHT OF BALLYHOO" runs DECEMBER 2-18, 2010
Following last season's smash hit, "Driving Miss Daisy," Southern playwright Alfred Uhry returns to CentreStage with the production of his Tony Award winning comedy drama, "The Last Night of Ballyhoo."
"The Last Night of Ballyhoo" is directed by Chip Egan and is sponsored by Greenville Hospital System University Medical Center and by Shirley & Raymond Campbell.
It's December 1939. "Gone with the Wind" is having its world premiere in Atlanta; Hitler is invading Poland; but the Freitag family is more concerned with who is going to Ballyhoo, a lavish ball for Southern Jewish socialites and the social event of the season.
Then the arrival of an unexpected dinner guest forces the Freitags to reexamine where they came from and to deal with who they really are.
The family gets pulled apart and then mended together with plenty of comedy, romance and revelations along the way. Play title:"The Last Night of Ballyhoo" by Alfred Uhry
