OPENING AND CLOSING! Broadway in Columbia presents THE BOOK OF MORMON, with book, music, and lyrics by Trey Parker, Matt Stone, and Robert Lopez. Choreography by Casey Nicholaw. Scenic design by Scott Pask. Costume design by Ann Roth. Lighting design by Brian MacDevitt. Sound design by Brian Ronan. Music direction by Stephen Oremus and Alan Bukowiecki. THE BOOK OF MORMON opens Tuesday, May 15th at 7:30 PM and runs Wednesday, May 16th - Friday, May 18th at 7:30 PM, Saturday, May 19th at 2:00 PM and 7:30 PM, and Sunday, May 20th at 1:00 PM and 6:30 PM. OPENING! Workshop Theatre presents STRING OF PEARLS by Michele Lowe. The production is directed by Zsuzsa Manna and stars Krista Forster, Christine Hellman, Alyssa Velazquez, Ellen Rodillo-Fowler, Sandra Hamlin-Rivers, and Cathy Carter-Scott. STRING OF PEARLS opens Friday, May 18th at 8:00 PM and runs Saturday, May 19th at 8:00 PM and Sunday, May 20th at 3:00 PM, with performances continuing through May 27th. Town Theatre presents HAIRSPRAY with music by Marc Shaiman, lyrics by Scott Wittman and Shaiman and a book by Mark O'Donnell and Thomas Meehan, based on the 1988 John Waters film Hairspray. The production is directed by Cindy Flach and stars Madison Nelson, Clayton King, Gil Young, Miranda Campagna, Ashley Hayes, Ella Rescigno, Corey Robinson, Alex Cowsert, and Adam Rainwater. Music direction by Greg Boatwright. Choreography by Heather Stokes. Production design by Danny Harrington. Costume design by Janet Kile. Tickets are $25 for adults, $20 for seniors 65+/active duty military/ full-time college and $15 for youth 17 and under. Group rates for 20 or more.
