Auditions for The Taffetas Held At the Electric City Playhouse

Auditions for The Taffetas will be held Sunday January 24th from 2:00 until 5:00. The Taffetas, a musical journey through the Fabulous Fifties, will run Aug 19 - Sept 5.

There are four open female spots (all sisters) for anyone who can play ages 18 to 30. Those auditioning must be able to read music and learn simple dance moves. The roles include Kaye (a Mezzo) the oldest sister who is the "brains" of the group, a take charge type (must be able belt Little Darlin'), Peggy (a Mezzo) a sweetie pie who charms the men in the audience and is a ladylike homemaker, Cheryl (Mezzo/Alto) lovable and simple, a sex kitten, but sings like an angel and Donna (Mezzo/Alto) who loves Chevy convertibles and masked men, is perky with a tomboyish quality that makes her humorous.

Please come with a prepared song (preferably applicable to the show) and to read from the script. Appropriate songs include Johnny Angel, Where the Boys Are, I'm Sorry, Tennessee Waltz, Love Letters in the Sand, Where the Boys Are, Mocking Bird Hill, Cry, You Belong to Me, How Much is that Doggie in the Window, and many more.

The Director of The Taffetas will be Pat Shull, with Musical Director Beverly Henderson Simes and the Producers are Jane Gray Sullivan and Dona Shiflette.
