The Anderson Artist Guild and the Electric City Playhouse have teamed up to provide more exposure to the arts than they could have done individually. During each of the 2010 Electric City Playhouse season plays, a different artist from the Anderson Artist Guild will be on display in the Electric City Playhouse lobby.
Myrl Garment, whose recent accomplishments include a Purchase Prize, First Prize at the Festival of Flowers in Greenwood, and whose art is on permanent display as part at the Belton Art Center, will be showing a selection of her work during the run of the Electric City Playhouse's MAN OF CONSTANT SORROW, A Stanley Brothers Musical. The live bluegrass music and Myrl's art represent extremely complicated pieces that, when done correctly, come off as natural and effortless as good art should. So as money remains tight in this tough economic climate, the arts are still finding a way to reach out to an audience. The combining of artistic forces between the Artist Guild and ECP shows their commitment to continue to blend the arts, regardless of medium, into the landscape of Anderson.Videos
