The newly named Richard and Debbie Cohn Trustus Side Door Theatre is opening its season with last season's smash hit 5 Lesbians Eating a Quiche. This unique show that was born from sketch comedy in Chicago comes back to Columbia with the original all-star Trustus cast. The show opens Friday October 11th, at 8:00pm in the Richard and Debbie Cohn Trustus Side Door Theatre, and runs through Saturday October 26th, 2013. Since the show sold out very quickly in January, patrons are encouraged to make reservations early.

5 Lesbians Eating a Quiche introduces theatre-goers to the leading ladies of the Susan B. Anthony Society for the Sisters of Gertrude Stein who are hosting an audience of fellow widows at the society's annual quiche breakfast. Why quiche? Well, as leader Lulie Stanwyck reminds us, "The egg is as close to the Lord Jesus as a piece of food can get." And for those unfortunate souls who might like a piece of sausage now and again, Lulie warns, "We don't even joke about putting meat in the quiche." The breakfast ensues with its usual panache; but when Communists descend on their idyllic town the sisters must work together to navigate through the hilarious chaos that proceeds. And trust us - the audience has to come along for the ride.

Director Robin Gottlieb brought together an all-star cast to portray the side-splitting members of the Susan B. Anthony Society for the Sisters of Gertrude Stein. Trustus company member Elena Martínez-Vidal (Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf) joins the cast as the leader of the Sisters: Lulie Stanwyck. Trustus Artistic Director Dewey Scott-Wiley takes the stage for the first time in the Trustus Side Door playing Vern. Trustus Company member Vicky Saye Henderson (Next To Normal, Ragtime) will be joining the sisters as Wren. Katie Mixon, who recently appeared in Pride and Prejudice with SC Shakespeare Company, returns to the Side Door stage as Ginny. Emily Meadows (Plan 9 From Outer Space) rounds out the cast and makes her Side Door debut as Dale.

5 Lesbians Eating a Quiche opens Friday, October 11th at 8:00pm and runs through Saturday, October 26th, 2013. Shows on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays start at 8pm. The Sunday matinee on October 13th will be at 3pm. There is no show on Saturday, January 19th. The doors and box office open thirty minutes prior to curtain, and all Trustus Side Door tickets are $20 for general admission and $15 for students. Reservations can be made by calling the Trustus Box Office at (803) 254-9732, and tickets may be purchased online at www.trustus.org .
