There is limited on-stage salon style seating for this performance. There is no late seating and children under the age 5 are not admitted. Last season's “Words with Friends” pre-recital talks engagingly brought chamber music and its composers into contemporary life, ticket holders should arrive at 1 p.m. for casual conversation about the music of friends. The speaker will be announced at a later date.
The Gesualdo Quartet (the Quartet-in-Residence at the University of Notre Dame, founded by faculty member Tricia Park, Associate Professor of the Practice, Violin) will present this concert as a ‘work-in-progress’ look at inspiration and the art of creative "riffing" on older established works. The Quartet will be joined by actors Peter Holland (McMeel Family Chair in Shakespeare Studies andAssociate Dean for the Arts at the University of Notre Dame), guest artist, actor Saffron Henke (Assistant Professor of Theatre, Miami University of Ohio) and pianist John Blacklow (Associate Professor of Piano and Director of Undergraduate Studies, Department of Music at the University of Notre Dame).
