Today's Fridays by the Fountain Rescheduled for 8/17

Due to the weather, today's Fridays by the Fountain outdoor summer concert has been RESCHEDULED to Friday, August 17, during lunchtime from 11:45 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. at the Jon R. Hunt Plaza in front of the Morris Performing Arts Center. The band Junior and the Igniters will be playing some great blues music at this concert! Band members include: Junior Combs on lead guitar and vocals, Jesse Lee Scutchfield on lead vocals and standup bass, and Mike McCalmet on drums.

The Fridays by the Fountain concert on Friday, August 24, from 11:45 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. during lunchtime in the Jon R. Hunt Plaza in front of the Morris Performing Arts Center will feature the band Jetta and the Jellybeans - a rock n' roll extravaganza for kids and adults too! It's School House Rock meets The Bangles! The colorful and energetic band has been entertaining groups for over ten years with fun for the entire family.

Also at this concert, Memorial Health Works! Kids' Museum staff will have fun games and activities for kids of all ages. South Bend Parks and Recreation Department will display a boat and be available to talk about boating and water safety. Potawatomi Zoo staff will bring zoo animals (weather permitting.) Swoop, the South Bend Silver Hawks mascot, will make an appearance. Kids from 1 to 101 will enjoy this concert!

The Fridays by the Fountain concert on Friday, August 31, will feature the Ernestine M. Raclin School of the Arts from Indiana University at South Bend. A variety of performances from music to dance to theater are planned.

Lunch will be available to purchase at all concerts from Palais at Your Doorstep, Papa John's, and Studebaker Catering & Events. A variety of lunchtime favorites including pizza, sandwiches, and salads will be available. Tables will be set up around the plaza to enjoy the concerts. People are also welcome to bring a sack lunch, chairs, or blankets and relax on the lawn.

Concert presenters The Morris Performing Arts Center, South Bend Tribune, Sunny 101.5 and sponsor R&B Car Company invite everyone to come enjoy all three free outdoor concerts in downtown South Bend at the beautifully restored fountain.
