When disco diva Deloris Van Cartier witnesses a murder, she is put into protective custody in the one place cops are sure she won't be found-a convent! Disguised as a nun, she finds herself at odds with both the rigid lifestyle and an uptight Mother Superior. Using her fabulous disco-ness and killer voice to inspire the choir, Deloris breathes new life into the church, but in doing so blows her cover. Soon it's nun-on-the-run time but she finds salvation in the heavenly power of her new sisterhood. Based on the mega-hit film, SISTER ACT, the musical will feature songs ranging from Motown, soul and funk to disco and Barry White inspired comedy.

The Round Barn Theatre production is directed by Artistic Director Amber Burgess, Music Directed by Chicago musician and actor Nathan Mittleman, and Choreographed by RBT favorite Sarah Phillabaum. "With great, funky music by Alan Menken and a script written by two of the writers from "Cheers" I wanted to bring together a team that would not only make the show great for the audience, but have a great time with the whole creative process. We really succeeded!" Burgess remarked, "I hope the audiences have as much fun as we are having."

Many new performers are joining the Round Barn acting company for the first time. The incomparable Dee Selmore will be playing Deloris VanCartier, Louisville-native Tyler Chandler plays Eddie, and Chicago luminary Jane Brewer plays Mother Superior. Many Round Barn Theatre patrons will recognize many of their favorite performers in this well-rounded cast. The convent is occupied by 2017 company members and past-season favorites Katie Barnes, Kristin Brintnall, Mikaela Brielle, Akira Watanabe, Lauren Morgan, Pam Gunterman, and Randa Meierhenry. The criminal element in the show is made up of four Round Barn Theatre Favorites: Travis Bird, Martin Flowers, Justin Williams, and Ryan Schisler.
