South Bend Civic Theatre presents Mel Brooks' The Producers, today, July 11-August 3, 2014.

From the zany imagination of comedy legend Mel Brooks comes The Producers, the blockbuster musical that won a record 12 Tony Awards. Downtrodden producer Max Bialystock and his meek accountant Leo Bloom come up with a foolproof scheme: produce the worst show in history and make off with the investors' millions. What could go wrong? Everything of course! A wild and fantastic romp that is side-splittingly funny and a valentine to Broadway. (Adult Language and Situations).

The Producers features a book by Mel Brooks and Thomas Meehan with music and lyrics by Mel Brooks.

David Case, director and music director Roy Bronkema lead a cast featuring Ted Mainer as Max Bialystock and Nick Mezak as Leo Bloom, with Brandon Armentrout, Olivia Becht, Sarah Beudert, Emily Case, Silas Chester, Pierre Cooks, Kathryn Denny, Katie Fry, Daniel Grey, Will Heckaman, Laura Heft, Christa Hill, Allison Jones, Katie Jung-Zimmerman, Jacob Kramer, Sean Leyes, Evan McSorley, Hilary Murrmann, Alexandria Sadowski, Nicholas Salay, Sara Schmidtke, David Stefenc, Mark Torma, Patrick Trimboli, and Libby Unruh.

The Producers performs in the Wilson Theatre at South Bend Civic Theatre today, July 11 to August 3, 2014. Performance times are Wednesdays through Saturdays at 7:30 PM and Sundays at 2:00 PM. Tickets are $21 Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays and $18 Wednesdays and Thursdays.
