Phoenix Theatre Announces World Premiere Of APPLES IN WINTER At Phoenix Theatre Image

Stage lights come up on a late-middle-age woman who is making an apple pie. She's chatty and seems pleased to have company (the audience) share in the moment. She peels apples, mixes ingredients, and rolls out a piecrust as she takes us on a storytelling adventure we won't soon forget. Not to mention, the actress in the show will be baking a pie in real time on stage, creating a sweet aroma for the audience to capture these moments.

As her story gently unfolds, we learn she is a mother of a grown son. Her journey as a parent has been far different from many. In fact, her journey has brought her to this moment in time - baking this apple pie for her son. He has requested his mother's apple pie as his last meal. As the pie bakes in real time on the stage, she confronts the memory of her most joyful and painful moments as a parent.
