Lampkin Music Group is proud to present a special encore performance of "Memoirs of Jesus", a play by Father Harry Cronin of Notre Dame. Featuring Andrew Dits and Directed by Dana Vagg.
Ralph Lampkin Jr, producer of many shows in performance nationwide, having seen a performance earlier this summer, was moved by the simplicity and directness of the script and the energetic performance of the actor, Andrew Dits. With direction by Dana Vagg, the play, Ralph thought, needed to be seen again in the area. Andrew lives and works as an actor in LA, while the gifted director/actress, Dana lives in Colorado; so Ralph called his friend Reverend Mary Hubbard and asked if the group could perform this wonderful script at her church, The First United Methodist of South Bend. The answer was yes, so here we are. The performance will be held at the beautiful sanctuary at the First United Methodist Church at 7:30 p.m.If Jesus had kept a diary, what would he have written? "Memoirs of Jesus" opens the book of Jesus' personal reflections on what it's like to discover that he is both God and man. From his years as an inquisitive youth in Nazareth to his time with the rough and dangerous fisherman, to performing miracles, we hear how Jesus' life not only opened the eyes of those around him, but also his own. And eventually taking a great action to open all of their hearts to a Father's love. The actor, Andrew Dits, plays multiple characters in addition to Jesus - his mother Mary, Judas, Satan and a Prostitute - in a story that re-counts the life of a great empathy, a man, much like you and me, who felt and believed things a little more profoundly and finally summoned the courage to pursue those beliefs.
Actor Andrew Dits is a South Bend native, graduated USC's Conservatory Acting Program and is currently living in LA. His stage performances include the Strongman in "Comedy of Errors" and the lead in the upcoming independent film "Fang".
