Set against the backdrop of the South African xenophobic attacks in May 2008, The Line explores the fragility of goodness and engages with both victim and perpetrator. The Line is the culmination of award-winning actor and director Gina Shmukler's Master's research on trauma and theatre-making, and is constructed from a series of interviews conducted over several months in the townships with South Africans involved in or affected by the xenophobic attacks.
