Maze of the Mind at Baxter Theatre

We are extremely excited about this season as it is the beginning of our 10-year Anniversary Celebrations and in August we will also be hosting our first 3 month development programme, which is the start of a of long awaiting dream.

We have a beautiful young cast, two young students from Stellenbosch University, a dancer from Imbewu Arts Collective, Rebirth Dance Company, a UCT student (and Capoeira trained) and lastly a young dancer from Khaylitsha who’s also studying pedagogy at UCT.

Most recently, Figure of 8 Dance Theatre’s work ‘Set in Motion’ received the Herrie Prize at this year’s KKNK Kanna Awards, which debuted last year as their July season. FO8 has become known for their yearly debut winter season and this year we are looking at the human’s mind.

We can find ourselves in a maze of thoughts, Dance can provide a way to navigate this maze. Exploring the human mind and its workings, the new choreography delves into the complex interplay between the conscious and subconscious mind, and how they shape our thoughts, emotions, and actions.
