The two lead singers of the popular bands Wonderboom and Sugardrive, Cito and Paul E. Flynn, have joined forces on an elaborate musical journey. They call the outfit Absinthè; a name that perfectly embodies the spirit of the project. The concept is simple. No originals, just covers.
With Absinthè, they have taken a supper club approach to some of their favourite songs from the last century. Absinthè is a laid-back meeting of two unique voices and acoustic guitars. Cito and Paul have chosen this format to pay tribute to a way of life, and some great music, with their own unique signature. Intended to charm those in an unplugged environment, Absinthè has entertained music lovers around Johannesburg with an awesome show of great alternative classics to contemporary favourites.
Through jamming together, Paul and Cito found that they had similar taste in music. Reminiscing about the alternative clubbing days at Le Club, The White Horse Inn, The Doors and Alcatraz, brought back the memories of the dance floor, heartbreak and escape. Cito and Flynn thought it would be a unique concept to keep them busy and having fun interpreting mutually admired songs by their great legendary influences such as, Joy Division, the Verve, Pixies, Placebo, House of Love, Coldplay, Depeche Mode, Johnny Cash, The Mission and many others.
Ages: Absinthè is a more mature entertainment option for the discerning audience.
