Cape Town, 15 February 2018-Vumani Choral Project presents "a one evening only" Gospel Classics concert at the Maynardville Open Air Theatre as part of the Maynardville Open Air Festival 2018. The Festival takes the annual Cape Town theatre tradition, Shakespeare under the Stars, into a new era with an expanded classical experience.
In this concert, Vumani Choral Project will bring you a mix of your favorite gospel classics and newly composed worship songs. Amongst other featured artists, Bulelani Koyo will lead Vumani Choral Project in worship. Mr. Koyo is a Crown Gospel Award Nominee (2016) for his song Lizalis'idinga lakho, and a presenter of an award winning show Iikwayala Eziphambili on Umhlobo WeneneFM.
Vumani Choral Project is based in Khayelitsha and was founded in 2013 by a group of classically trained singers with an extensive global stage experience in various musical productions. The Project is becoming a household name in the choral music community in the Western Cape and has performed in various state ceremonial events in the presence of our Premier Helen Zille, Mayor Patricia De Lille,MEC Anroux Marais and a South African Parliament Speaker, Ms. Baleka Mbethe and her fellow parliamentarians at 2017 Speaker's ball.The Choir will also be performing at the Plett Performing Arts Festival on 22-23 February 2018.
The concert will take place on Sunday 04 March 2018 at Maynardville Open Theatre in Wynberg at 19:45.Gates will open at 17:00 to allow the venue's tradition of taking picnic to the park before watching the show.
