On the anniversary of anti-apartheid activist Amy Biehl's passing, Thembi Mtshali-Jones will be performing her award winning one woman play MOTHER TO MOTHER at the Artscape Theatre today, 25 August 2013.

Poignant and powerful, MOTHER TO MOTHER is an intimate portrayal of a mother struggling to come to terms with the actions of her son. Written by celebrated author Dr Sindiwe Magona, the play is a deeply moving story of forgiveness and reconciliation. The production has toured widely, receiving 4- and 5-star reviews at last year's Edinburgh Festival Fringe and playing to sold out houses at the Afrovibes Festival in the Netherlands and the UK.

The Amy Biehl Foundation is also set to host their sixth annual Youth Spirit Awards and Memorial Lecture on 27 August 2013. The event will be held at the University of the Western Cape and will pay homage to exceptional youngsters in the area who are dedicated and committed to helping others. THe keynote speaker is Trevor Manuel with a guest address done by Linda Biehl.

MOTHER TO MOTHER hopes to celebrate the life of Amy Biehl and the Amy Biehl Foundation's great work. Tickets, priced at R120, are available through the Amy Biehl Foundation (http://www.amybiehl.co.za). Contact Kim on 021 462 5052 or email kim@amybiehl.co.za to book your seats.
