Following a very successful run at the National Arts Festival, LOVE AND PROZAC - the naughty girls' (mis)guide to dating, bonking and other disasters - will return to the Alexander Upstairs Theatre for a limited season of six performances.
LOVE AND PROZAC is Sonia Esgueira's hilarious solo show about dating disasters, created with and directed by John Trengrove. The 65-minute show features Esgueira, who describes herself as the Titanic of the dating world, as thirteen sidesplitting characters on the prowl in a dirty comedy about love. From Sea Point trophy wives, sleazy sugar daddies, speed dating, Indian love gurus, sozzled Portuguese mothers , trance parties and sangomas, this comedy is jam packed with hilarious recognisable South Africans and razor sharp wit. The show earned Esgueira a prestigious Mbokodo Award nomination for excellence in Arts and Culture in the field of Comedy.
LOVE AND PROZAC runs from 21 July - 25 July at the Alexander Upstairs Theatre. Tickets cost R90 - R100 and can be booked online at the Alexander Bar website or purchased in person at the bar at any time during its regular opening hours. Under 18s must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Alexander Bar & Café is situated at 76 Strand Street in the Cape Town city centre and can be followed on Facebook and Twitter.
