Cape Town learners are set to get an enormous boost from the much anticipated SA HISTORY IN SONG production to be held from 4 - 12 April 2016 at the St Joseph's Stone Auditorium.
The high-quality production is aimed at schools across the eight districts of the Western Cape Province, who will get the opportunity to experience the production that speaks to their curriculum in language, history, and the arts. The show features well-known performers such as the versatile singer, Fancy Galada, Dalin Oliver (a teacher by profession, a comedian and sports reporter on Good Hope FM) and Themba Lonzi (an experienced Jembi drummer).
Galada and Lonzi will not only play with the band but will also invite students on stage to bring them into the performance. This will be a truly interactive experience for every school pupil while teachers will be able to draw from this performance lessons for assessment for language in English, Afrikaans and IsiXhosa as Galada sings in all three languages. History students will be taken from Sophiatown to Langa, while arts outcomes will be covered by paying tribute to music legend and heroine Brenda Fassie and our contemporary South African artist, as well as exposing pupils to various genres of song, instrumentals and Oliver's comedy.
Performances of SA HISTORY IN SONG will take place from 4 - 12 April at 10:30, 12:30 and 19:30. For ticket bookings, at R80.00 per person, please contact Betram Bartlett.
